In-house Solicitor (5+ PQE Property Litigation)

£50,000 - £75,000+ (Full time salary, Part time optional)

An Essex based property management company with a track record of success over 30-years is looking for a new member of staff to join their close nit in-house legal team. This company is a large freeholder with residential properties and business interests in the UK and US, with a legal team including two solicitors and excellent support. This is a great opportunity for someone with a property litigation background to move in-house, working on a varied caseload of pre-litigated and formally litigation property matters in a friendly and flexible environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Run a caseload of property litigation files including landlord and tenant, breach of lease, possession, and other claims, at a pre-litigated and formally litigated level.
  • Manage and supervise junior members of staff.
  • Advise and progress other litigation cases on behalf of the company including commercial litigation matters and contract disputes.
  • Assist and work on other varied property matters including deeds of variation and enfranchisement matters.
  • Research appropriate case law and technical and legal precedents to progress matters.
  • Clearly communicate with colleagues and clients.


Skills and Experience:

  • UK qualified Solicitor with experience in a reputable Property Litigation team, ideally with 5+ PQE.
  • Strong experience and understanding of property matters, both litigated and transactional.
  • Developed empathy and interpersonal skills with good abilities to work in a team.
  • Strong technical ability including thoroughness and excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of enfranchisement matters would be advantageous but not essential.
