Part Time Breakfast Chef

My client, a lovely retail establishment based in St Albans are looking for a new Breakfast Chef to join their team in their newly refurbished Cafe. They are a very friendly, close knit team, and looking after their staff is a top priority.

The hours are extremely flexible, it is up to you what you'd like your set shifts to look like. The options are -

  • Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 2pm :

  • Sunday - Thursday 8am - 2pm :

  • Or Saturday and Sunday only, 8am - 3pm.

If you would like to do more or fewer hours than this, the business is open to discussion, as long as you are able to work in the mornings of your set days, and just one weekend day of your choice.

Which ever shifts you agree, would then be set, and the same every week which provides good routine.

Pay - £10.60 - £12.50ph depending on experience. (Pro ratad salary equivalent £22,000 - £26,000)

The role:

  • Prepare ingredients, cook breakfast and brunch menu, plate dishes as required according to customer requirements.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out with the highest possible hygiene standards whilst ensuring an efficient process to cooking and serving food to our customers is implemented.
  • Be fully conversant with the menu and daily specials, with particular attention to allergens and ensure allergens are communicated to all team members.
  • Assist in determining how food should be presented and served in conjunction with the kitchen team and Seasons Café Manager.
  • Respond to customer expectations and feedback in a positive manner and communicate to the duty manager.
  • Ensure all equipment used is kept clean and in good repair.
  • Ensure defects requiring maintenance are reported to the duty manager immediately.
  • Adhere to current Environmental Health, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Undertake training to keep up to date with changes in food hygiene regulations.
  • To be an integral member of the team to ensure the success of the Café.
  • To undertake such other duties as may reasonably assigned and required in the post.

The person:

  • Ideally have some professional cooking experience
  • Must have a real passion for food and cooking
  • Excellent team player
  • Good communication skills
