Housing Officer - Birchwood

Permanent - Full Time 38 hours p/w

Salary £24,500 + Company Benefits

Here within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Officer with strong interpersonal skills to work our AASC contract. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individualsthrough the asylum system.

In this role you will ensure that all properties within the allocated portfolio are safe, habitable, fit for purpose and fully equipped by completing Monthly Inspections. You will report Property Faults and complete all minor property repairs and ensuringthat all Service Users maintain compliance with the conditions of their support provision. You will provide welfare support and signposting to the Service Users and manage on-boarding and withdrawal of properties as required. There is a requirement to operatean Emergency On-Call system outside of normal working hours amongst all Housing Officers on a rota basis.

This is a role which requires excellent organisational skills due to the variety of accountabilities which also include the following: Responding to customer complaints and requests. Dealing with Medical emergencies and manage any incidents. Management of domestic violence, violence, Anti-social behaviour and child safeguarding needs. In short you will be a key member of the Housing Officer team and as such you will have patience and understanding and will be self-motivated and able to use your own initiative prioritising and working to tight timescales.

What you’ll need to do the role

Good interpersonal skills are required as you will be working with people where English is not their first language so experience of dealing with people on a face to face basis is essential. A Housing related qualification is desirable or experience of workingwithin a service or property related environment and dealing with landlords and tenants.

You will work flexibly and you must have a willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK therefore a valid UK driver’s licence is essential.
