School Food Assistants : We are looking for a well-organised, enthusiastic School Food Assistants to provide support in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and to perform related kitchen duties to the highest standards. These roles are across the Leicestershire County as well as in Leicester City

The roles are term time based plus 3 days out of term time for cleaning. Contracts can range from 7.5 hours a week up to 16.25

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Preparing the dining area including furniture, setting trolleys and the cleaning and dismantling of these when required.
  • Preparing the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment in the dining centre for efficient and effective service.
  • Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages as defined by the immediate supervisor or line manager, including style and presentation.
  • Cleaning on a daily basis all catering area to standards laid down by the School Food Supervisor and in line with the Food Safety and Health and Safety Policy.
  • Undergoing on and off the job training sessions as required
  • Informing the immediate supervisor or line manager of any defects in light or heavy equipment and any premises not meeting Health & Safety and /or Food Hygiene Regulations Standards.
  • Assisting in carrying out of a deep clean of the kitchen/dining room on 3 specified out of term time cleaning days.
