Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Hard FM Service Manager to join our Facilities Management team at the University of Essex in Colchester. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role: Reporting to the Contract ManagerResponsible for all operational systems and assets within a student accommodation buildingResponsible for the cost effective management of all employed and sub-contracted planned and reactive maintenance labour across M&E, Building Fabric and Grounds Maintenance disciplines.To manage the daily performance of services and incorporate a detailed understanding of service requirements and deductions, utilising the Maximo CAFM system as the integrated operational systemBe the direct interface on operational planning and delivery of service to our client providing a compliant & safe environment and ensuring we meet client expectations Review existing PPMs and if required, devise new PPM regimes for site assets to ensure optimum operational availability and life cycle.To assist contractual performance in accordance with agreed budgets, compliance with the performance monitoring systems, and continually enforce cost efficiencies Management of operational revenue budgets to maintain agreed expenditure levels Oversee the security department, liasiing with the Security Supervisor to ensure service provision meets all SLA and KPI requirementsWorking 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with participation in the management on call rota The person: Will come from a Hard FM background with an Engineering qualification to ONC / HNC in a relevant disciplineStrong track record of working effectively in a customer-focused environmentMust have experience of managing staff within facilities management and excellent communication, leadership and motivational skillsWill have an understanding of statutory compliance and contract deliverablesWill have experience of managing multi-functional teamsWilling to undertake training for AP and RP roles for specialist service delivery streams e.g. Water Management, Asbestos, if requiredDesirable to have strong financial acumen and budget experience Our excellent benefits package includes: Generous holiday allowanceCompany share scheme2 paid volunteering days a yearCycle to work schemeSeason ticket loanEmployee assistance programme Who are we?
