User Experience and Interaction Designer (UX/UI Designer) Salary: up to £50,000 Location: Bristol / Remote working possible

Vaarst is a cloud robotics business, focused on the energy transition space. We are developing a platform for mobile autonomous robotics, starting with the offshore renewables sector. Our R&D team produces state of the art computer vision coupled with the latest in machine learning techniques. We use this to deploy underwater robots on wind farms where they perform visual surveys and output detailed 3D models (see it in action here).

To keep them connected we have built an Intelligent Data Platform that integrates with our state-of-the-art AI driven camera system and the latest machine learning techniques.

We are looking for an confident and creative User Experience and Interaction / UX/UI Designer who is enthusiastic about supporting product vision by researching, prototyping and developing user-testing experiences for digital products. You are the type of person who enjoy creating innovative design concepts and can effectively articulate thinking and process, would be keen to be a part of a great team building an Machine Learning platform that will revolutionise an industry.

The role is to work in collaboration with stakeholders across the business to evaluate user and business requirements and to quickly iterate and test designs to ensure they translate into a great user experience. This will include the production of wireframes, user stories and flow diagrams.

These will be supplied to Front End developers to implement, and to Testers for conversion into test scripts. This person will help determine the look and feel of our platform and ensure our customers’ journeys through it are seamless and productive.

Requirements :

  • UX design tools
  • Wireframing
  • Experience with user story development
  • Creation of user flow diagrams
  • Experience with React is desirable
  • Experience of using Axure, Figma, Invision or proto.io
  • Experience handling rich and interactive data types (video, 3D models etc)
