Job Title: SEMH LSA Location: Colchester  Salary: £75 - £130 per day Start Date: September 2024 Contract Type: Full-time Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join our secondary schools in Colchester  starting September 2024 . As an SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who require additional help due to SEMH challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff and external specialists to implement tailored strategies that foster academic progress and emotional wellbeing. Your role will involve providing one-on-one support and small group interventions, ensuring that students are engaged, motivated, and making positive strides in their learning journeys. Key Responsibilities: Supporting SEMH students in classroom settings, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities. Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to the needs of SEMH students. Building rapport and trust with students to create a supportive and nurturing environment. Collaborating with teachers to monitor progress and development of SEMH students. Promoting positive behavior and emotional regulation techniques. Required Skills and Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH students in a school or similar setting. Understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies to support these needs. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behavior sensitively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
