We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare support Worker to work at CCC - Marina Dalglish Aintree Hospital. This is a post to cover Maternity for 9 months. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire. Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral. The Clatterbridge Marina Dalglish Chemotherpy Unit. The working hours are 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday, working 4 days a week. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work alongside and support our chemotherapy team. The post provides support to Registered Nurses and other members of the multi-professional team to deliver nursing care and treatment within the out-patient chemotherapy environment and includes the chemotherapy network clinics. The Health Care Support Worker role also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistant and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, performing observations T.P.R. BM urinalysis, care of central lines, cannulation and maintain documentation. The post will also be responsible for obtaining blood results. There is an element of housekeeping, which involves ordering stock, keeping the unit clean and tidy and providing refreshments to patients. Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is desired. We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service, are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers, and host the region's Teenage and Young Adult Unit. Working with leading experts from the University of Liverpool, we strive to stay at the forefront of novel treatments and techniques to deliver more effective and personalised treatments. The Health Care Support Worker role is very Varied, one of the main jobs of the HCA is accessing Picc and Ports taking patient bloods ready for their treatments. The job also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistant and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing observations T.P.R. BM urinalysis The post will also be responsible for obtaining blood results which they will need to print out for the nurses on the days of treatments. There is an element of housekeeping, which involves ordering stock, keeping the unit clean and tidy and providing refreshments to patients. Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is desired. There will also be some cross cover between Clatterbridge sites, this is mainly Clatterbridge in Liverpool town centre but a possibility for other hubs too. Also at Marina Dalglish we cover the Ormskirk clinic on a Monday and Tuesday and you may be required to work there.
