Job summary Part-time (2 sessions plus holiday cover) Salaried GP VacancyAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our rural Dalespractice. We are looking to recruit a high quality GP who enjoys thetraditional values of general practice, such as continuity of care, as well asmaintaining the broad and diverse set of skills necessary to work in remote andisolated areas - including being able to read an OS map! The job is unique inthe UK (outside of the Scottish Islands) both in its setting and in the natureof the work. It is exceptionallyrewarding but does require someone who is capable to deliver excellent careover a wide range of conditions. Main duties of the job The ideal candidate would benefit from experience in acute medicine or accident and emergency, but only compulsory quality is position would suit a confident, experienced GP who is able to deal with the variety of skills rural practice requires and has a desire to provide the best possible care to preferred day for the session is Friday (0800-1800hrs) but with the flexibility to cover the GP partner when he wishes to take annual leave (6 weeks a year, in blocks of 1 week planned well in advance).It is a single-handed dispensing practice (we have 1600 patients) and although support isalwaysavailable remotely you will be working as the sole GP for the practice area during your normal working hours.Wherever you are in your career journey we would welcome hearing from competitive salary will be offered to the right applicant. Job description Job responsibilities REETH MEDICAL CENTRE JOB DESCRIPTIONJob title: General PractitionerReports to: The PartnersResponsible to: The PartnersMain duties & responsibilitiesThe post-holder will provide general medical services, manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Clinical Responsibilities In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations ( Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner; Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation; Recording clear and contemporaneous based consultation notes to agreed standards; Collecting data for audit purposes; Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible); Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Other responsibilities with the Practice: Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, QOF assessment of the Practice. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice; Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation; Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records; Attending training, Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
