Specialist Production Operative

Job description An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Operative to join our busy site in Gateshead to work within the Specialist Production area. The area is responsible for the production of a variety of documents and publications in large print, braille and audio.

This role is being offered on a full time, fixed term contract of one year (with the possibility of extension).

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Specialist Production Lead your main responsibilities will include producing and packing a range of formats including Braille, Audio and Large Print. This will involve meeting schedules and deadlines while also ensuring a high standard of quality.

You will be operating, cleaning and maintaining work areas and machinery, which in turn will mean our processes will run smoothly and efficiently for the team as a whole.

Please note tha training will be provided.

Who We're Looking For

You will have experience in a production environment, or be confident to learn how to use machinery, equipment and software related to creating our materials for the blind and partially sighted.

You will be an effective communicator, preferably with experience of working in a customer service environment. As well as with clients, you will also be developing relationships within the team to support their needs as well as communicate your own ideas for processes that will improve the customer experience. You will also be a motived self-starter, being able to prioritise your time efficiently to create and meet schedules.
