We are investing in the provision of a Specialist Recruitment Agency and looking for a Head of Recruitment to join us working from our Stockport office, the role will support external clients looking for exceptional, management level candidates across the health, education and social care sectors. 


As a senior, seasoned Agency Recruitment professional you will have demonstrable experience of setting up new services and/or penetrating new markets and geographies. This dual role requires a combination of hands-on recruitment expertise as well as entrepreneurial drive to ensure the successful set up and delivery of our recruitment service.


This role requires a dynamic individual capable of balancing the demands of both recruitment consulting and managerial responsibilities. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and success of the recruitment team while delivering exceptional service to clients and candidates.

Responsibilities:

 

Service set up

 

  1. Service and Team Set Up:
  • Establish systems, processes and plans to mobilise the new service
  • Attract and onboard a recruitment team to support the growth of the service

 

Service management and growth

 

  1. Candidate Sourcing and Selection:
  • Identify, attract, and assess potential candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
  • Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.

 

  1. Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their hiring needs and deliver tailored recruitment solutions.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to clients on the recruitment progress.

 

  1. Job Advertising and Marketing:
  • Create job descriptions and advertisements.
  • Develop marketing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.

 

  1. Negotiation and Offer Management:
  • Handle salary negotiations and facilitate the offer management process.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by managing expectations and addressing concerns.

 

Management:

 

  1. Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of recruitment consultants.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure team members meet performance targets and goals.

 

  1. Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance recruitment processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and stay updated on industry trends.

 

  1. Performance Metrics:
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the recruitment team.
  • Review data and provide regular reports on team and individual performance.

 

  1. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand overall business goals and align recruitment strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

 

  1. Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide training and guidance to the team on compliance matters.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or a comparable level of work based experience.
  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant, demonstrating success against targets.
  • Proven experience in setting up a new service or penetrating new markets/geographies within an existing service
  • Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role within recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Experience or an understanding of the social care, health and/or education sectors would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
