About the Role

Base Location : Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary : £72,500 - £108,700 + car / allowance + Performance-related bonus + Private Medical Cover and a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The key duties and responsibilities of the Head of Project Services is to:

  • Define, establish, and manage the Project Services function across SSE Renewables global Offshore Wind business, including leading a multi-disciplinary team across GB, Ireland and other jurisdictions as the business grows internationally.
  • Follow Governance, Project Planning, Portfolio Planning, Business Planning, Managing the Pipeline, Management Reporting, Change Control, Risk Management, Project Controls, Workforce Planning, and Document Management for our Capital Projects investment portfolio of around 10GW development and construction projects with an annual CAPEX/DEVEX spend of greater than £1Bn. Key projects in the portfolio currently include Dogger Bank, Seagreen, Arklow and Berwick Bank.
  • Be responsible for Business Planning including Workforce/Resource planning, budget preparation and Headcount management for all projects and project related activities.
  • The Head of Project Services will coordinate the technical due diligence activities for the offshore M&A opportunities.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Demonstrably significant project and portfolio management experience and expertise and an understanding of major projects delivery including project definition and set up, planning, cost, risk, quality, and commercial management.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to make decisions and experience leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
  • Significant understanding and experience of programme and financial planning for capital projects is essential along with experience in change management, resource planning and management.
  • Adapt at working to tight deadlines, with a flexible nature to respond to changing priorities you will be able to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently. You will have strong stakeholder engagement and relationship skills to ensure you can work with senior business Directors and large multi-disciplinary teams.
  • You will be results-oriented, flexible, able to meet tight deadlines, able to build strong relationships with people at all levels of the business, and able to distil complex data into concise information and options to inform risk-based decision making with senior business directors.
