Contract Length - Initial 6 month contract

£360/per day (Outside IR35)


We have three exciting opportunities for FTTx Quantity Surveyors to join our client's team on a 6-month contract basis in Cornwall. These roles require candidates who can commit to traveling up to 50% of the time using their own vehicles.


Position Summary


In this role, you will work closely with the Contract Manager or Project Director, focusing on providing accurate cost and material estimates, drafting budgets, and ensuring seamless collaboration with project and construction teams. You will be responsible for monitoring design alterations and their cost implications, while regularly coordinating with subcontractors, construction managers, site supervisors, designers, engineers, and other contractors.


Key Duties:


- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project cost plans, including those related to resources, subcontractors, and materials.

- Engage in the Change Control process, analyzing variations to craft effective response strategies.

- Thoroughly understand the contract’s commercial scope, validating risk assumptions made during pre-sales.

- Review and validate designs, build packs, and quantity requirements.

- Work alongside the design team and clients to prepare and review quotations and bills of quantities.


Qualifications and Experience:


- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or a related discipline.

- Background in construction estimating or finance is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Solid understanding of construction principles.

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

- Strong organizational abilities, with a focus on planning and strategy.

- A valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel using your own car.

- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a PMO role.

- Advanced skills in reporting and data analysis.

- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, and database tools.

- Ability to create detailed presentations in Excel and PowerPoint.

- A strong grasp of FTTx architecture and design.
