Assistant Residential Worker

Your new company Hays Social Care are working with a client in Enniskillen who really put the young people they support at the heart of what they do, providing practical and emotional care, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to theirlives. Your new role We are looking for bank workers to fill occasional 12.5-hour shifts, daytime and night time in Enniskillen. These will be ad hoc as and when shifts, however there is room for a full time role for the right person. You will be reporting to senior members ofstaff helping young people aged 16 - 21 gain their independence and help support them through the transition from supported living to living independently. This role will likely never have two days the same, you need to adapt well to change and remain calmin challenging situations. You will need strong communication skills and ensure that the that the views and needs of children/young people are heard and responded to by promoting communication and participation. You will be contributing the care plans andmanagement and attending meetings, you will be expected to have a sound understanding of safeguarding and raise any issues appropriately. What you'll need to succeed An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Youth work or is a prerequisite. A minimum of twelve months experience working with young people between 16 and 25 is necessary. You will have experience working in a social care environment with a sound understandingof safeguarding procedures and experience of working with children and families. Excellent communication skills will be required, and it is imperative that you are comfortable to utilise Microsoft office packages within a work environment. NISCC registrationis essential. You will also require access to a car and be willing to obtain business insurance. What you'll get in return :
