The roleWe are recruiting a Property & Workplace Apprentice to support our Property & Workplace teams in Leeds.The role is based within the Property & Workplace group in the Leeds office, working across various departments to provide support to colleagues and clients., whilst working towards successful completion of a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.Our apprentices will learn from colleagues and mentors to build a wide range of skills and experience by working across a number of the Property & Workplace functions such as Reprographics, Records Management, Mail Services, Front of House, Document Production, and Legal Administration.Good communication skills and a high level of professionalism are required to fulfil the role.APPRENTICE ELIGIBILITYYou will need GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or aboveYou need to have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for the last 3 yearsMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow internal procedural guidelines ensuring all systems are updated and documentation is completedDeal with queries and requests from internal and external clients, and visitors at all levelsProvide administrative support as required including filing, scheduling, data entry, and finance supportAssist with incoming and outgoing post, DX and courier deliveriesRecords management (archiving) requests and returns as requiredDistribution of external and internal deliveries as requiredEngage with approved suppliers to ensure stock levels within the office and department are maintainedProduction and finishing of hard copy documents to a high standard in various sizesUndertaking printing requests from a variety of applications including Microsoft office suiteScanning of documents to distribute externally or store in line with the e-filing policyManipulation and distribution of electronic documents using specialised software including OCR, indexing, and combining files to ready for distribution via various methods such as E-Bible or secure FTPAssisting with meeting room bookings including updating the system, catering, IT requirements and setting up video conference facilities and WebEx meetingsCreation and amendment of documents within the firm’s house style guidelinesOpening of matters in the firms document management system and filing of documents within agreed protocolsAssisting with event organisationCompletion of training to ensure both technical and personal skill developmentTo undertake ad hoc departmental duties from time to time in accordance with departmental and business needs, as identified by the managerRead and understand the requirements of the firm’s Health and Safety policy and ensure that it is applied appropriatelyABOUT YOUGood level of IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite with an understanding of file structures and a wide range of applicationsConfident and able to build trust and rapport to develop effective relationshipsAble to handle multiple priorities, working to sometimes conflicting timescales in a fast-paced and challenging environmentRemains calm under pressureFocus on continued personal development and ensuring all training requirements are up to datePolite, professional and friendlyGood communicator- both written and verballyCustomer service focusedEnthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitudeGood timekeeping and attendanceABOUT USDLA Piper is a global law firm with lawyers and business service professionals located in more than 40 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
