Alexander Steele Recruitment is working with a food manufacturing business based in Merseyside as they are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager.

This role is responsible for all operational performances (SHE, Quality, Service, Cost and People) of the maintenance department and implements the continuous improvement program towards Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities :

Responsible supporting the Operations Director in the delivery of the Engineering departments compliance to all applicable legal regulations and international food safety standards in support of the Operations Director, this encompasses safety, functionalcompetencies, working conditions, environment, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, Prerequisite Programs (PRP), British Retail Consortium (BRC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Halal, Kosher, allergens
Contact point for day-to-day maintenance of the plant, buildings of the site and the utilities in Buckingham
Optimal alignment of maintenance with the indicated production and asset strategy, the logistics planning and the production planning, and the relevant internal and external regulations on quality and safety
The effective and efficient balancing of maintenance supply and demand in the medium and long term, as regards both quantity and quality
The organising of maintenance in the most effective and efficient manner
Coaching and developing maintenance department employees; guiding the team in such a way so as to attain the highest service level; and ensuring that the competency level of the team is continuously improved by providing the necessary (internal and external)training
Drawing up and managing the maintenance budgets and targets. Reporting and managing the related KPIs

Previous experience within food manufacturing at a management level
Good knowledge of data processing (SAP/Excel).
Excellent verbal and written skills
Self-motivated, driven & Committed
Structured and well organised
Adopts high personal and professional standards
Strong initiative - a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
