Job Description This vacancy is for a support worker to join our client’s support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients.  All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period.  This vacancy is for 10 hrs per week which can be organised flexibly with the family. It is anticipated that you will work for half a day on a weekend and on a weekday evening, however there is the option to 'save hours' to enable our client to have a day trip out. There may also be the opportunity to cover some overnight respite. About the Client and Support Needed: Our client is a gentleman in his 30's who has autism and limited understanding. He loves to be with adults, talking and sharing information.  He enjoys being outdoors and out and about and his hobbies include walking, swimming, visiting coffee shops and going out for meals. He sometimes likes watching Disney films, National History documentaries and listening to the news. Our client is also a good talker with fantastic social skills. The ideal support worker for our client will help to keep him rounded by creating a stress-free environment, by displaying patience in response to his repetitive questions and who will keep him safe. You will help with personal care, medication and patches, cooking and domestic tasks around the home (our client likes things to be clean and tidy). You will need to drive for this role as you will accompany/support our client to enjoy his interests out and about in the community. Requirements Training Provided Specific to this Client: Induction Training Safeguarding Adults Health and Safety First Aid Food Hygiene Mental Health Learning Disabilities Autism You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client.  If you are 'already known to the client' and have care experience, this will be valued.  Unless specified elsewhere, previous care experience is not essential.
