We are looking for someone to join our Employee Relations (ER) team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract to help drive standardisation and excellence in Employee Relations across the business. You'll take ownership of high-level ER issues, providing professional guidance and advice on employment law and business practices. With your expertise, you'll contribute to process development and deliver impactful training solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and deliver ER training for new managers, ensuring their learning is completed.
  • Conduct group and individual training sessions on ER process and policy.
  • Continuously review and update training content for relevance and effectiveness.
  • Assess manager capabilities and evaluate training methods.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to align plans and utilize technology.
  • Manage complex ER cases, including dismissals and appeals.
  • Advise on escalated absence cases and key review dates.
  • Support HR Business Partners and provide information for operational scorecards.
  • Work closely with HR shared service function and provide ER updates and training.
  • Assist with ACAS queries and ET1 claims, managing potential claims.
  • Undertake short-term projects and provide data analysis for ER function.
  • Offer mediation for conflict resolution.
  • Provide accurate information on policies, procedures, and company terms.
  • Stay updated on employment law and recommend improvements.

Skills, Qualifications and relevant experience:

  • CIPD qualification or working towards it.
  • Qualified Mediator or working towards it (advantageous).
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Evaluation of training methods and identifying needs.
  • Setting realistic deadlines and facilitating adherence.
  • Experience with HR information systems and data interpretation.
  • ER caseload management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and coaching managers.
  • Familiarity with employment law, policy changes, and unionized environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
