Job role: Autism Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant

**Hours:

• **Monday - Friday (8:15am - 3:30pm)

Location: London Borough of Ealing

**Wage:

• **£80 - £90 per day (DOE)

Your duties will include but not limited to :

• working with children on the autism spectrum including those who can’t speak or are selectively mute
• Supporting the student on a 1:1 basis with their education and emotional needs
• Able to work as a team with the class teacher and SENCO
• Engaging the child in activities whereby they can be interactive
• Good understanding of child’s next steps in learning, working through their set targets - (EHCP)
• Reporting any safeguarding disclosures or concerns as necessary
• Partaking in any school trips, activities with the child Working with children who cannot speak or are selectively mute can be challenging so we do require someone calm, patient and understanding. Someone who is dedicated to the school and the helping of a child’s development.

Requirements :

• Strong communication skills
• Enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work
• Up to date DBS or be willing to process a new one
• SEN experience (desirable)
• The ability to understand children’s reactions
• Active listening skills
• To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
