Job summary This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated and passionate operational services manager, to be responsible for supporting the management of Specialty Medicine services across the three acute hospital in CTMUHB.The specialty Medicine Directorate sits within the Unscheduled Care Group within CTM University Health Board and covers the following specialties; Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes & Endocrine, Rheumatology, Sports & Exercise Medicine, Rapid Diagnostics, Neurology and Nephrology.The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge and experience of the performance management and service development of a wide range of medical specialties, including managing referral to treatment performance and single cancer pathway management.We are looking for a manager who can come and make a difference to our team and provide comprehensive operational management support.The directorate support manager will have experience of managing teams, with the ability to maintain the supportive team environment and provide opportunities for continued learning and development. Main duties of the job To ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with national and locally agreed standards.To ensure that all relevant qualitative and quantitative targets are delivered in a timely way and with the agreed resource framework.Responsibility for managing all operational aspects of activity, referral and performance management. Management Qualification or appropriate experience in a management role within the NHS. Desirable Project Management qualification PRINCE2. Significant expertise in Service administration. Knowledge of targets and waiting lists. Knowledge of Myrddin/WPAS/WCCIS/FACE ICT systems. Experience Essential Experience of developing business processes and reporting systems. Experience of performance management reporting within an NHS/Social Service environment and delivering targets within strict timescales. Experience of translating complex information and presenting in a range of formats. Skills and attributes Essential Able to prioritise, solve problems and make decisions effectively but who can also delegate to others as appropriate. Excellent leadership skills. Standard keyboard skills and familiar with Microsoft Office and NHS/LA IT systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of partners. Ability to lead a team and foster effective team working across services and organisations. A pro-active manager with the ability to manage change efficiently and effectively. Ability to influence, negotiate with, and motivate senior managers and clinicians to assist in the development of forward thinking and joint working. other role requirements Essential Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards achieving this level.
