Page Personnel are recruiting on behalf of their client who are a UK market leader in commercial parts distribution, who are currently experiencing rapid growth.
Description
The key responsibilities of the Buying Assistant will be:
- Weekly review of supplier accounts based in Turkey and Europe, forecasting orders up to 5 months in advance.
- Identify opportunities to achieve cost savings through smarter buying or re-sourcing exercises.
- Booking stock into the system for orders received and put away. This will be a temporary role to give you an overview of the necessary processes and procedures.
- Creation of internal documents for the warehouse to process deliveries. (Also temporary, as above)
- Continuously monitor order due dates and chase suppliers accordingly.
- Maintain system information upon supplier feedback to ensure all stakeholders have the most up to date information.
- Closely checking all order confirmations to ensure we are charged the correct amount and escalating if there are any issues.
- Ad hoc reporting and price file analysis to be escalated to your line manager.
- After time, help coordinate the team through analysis of stock levels and provide suggestions on areas of improvement.
Profile
The Buying Assistant will have/ be:
- At least 1-year office experience (Essential)
- Methodical/Analytical mindset (Essential)
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple tasks requiring attention (Essential)
- Enthusiastic and proactive with a keen eye for detail (Essential)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel (Essential)
- Previous experience working in a purchasing role (Desirable, but full training given)
