Psychology TeacherKensington and ChelseaSixth Form CollegePermanentMPS - UPSJob overviewWe are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Psychology Teacher to join our vibrant and ambitious college. Our commitment is to provide the best possible education for every student that we serve.The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and teaching qualification, or will be a current ITT trainee working towards QTS. They will teach across our A Level curriculum; will promote a purposeful learning environment; deliver engaging lessons and foster a creative and innovative learning environment, with a strong focus on student progress.This role would suit an ECT or an experienced teacher seeking to move from a school to a 16-19 environment.Duties and Responsibilities:To teach psychology throughout the school in KS3, KS4 and KS5.To ensure good curriculum delivery through good preparation and quality teaching.To set, mark and record homework according to the homework timetable.To monitor and record pupil progress according to the school’s assessment policy.To maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.To teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the students.To assess, record and report on the attainment, attendance and progress of students keeping such records as required.To assess students’ work in line with the school’s policies and procedures referring to student performance targets.To provide pastoral support to students with special educational needs.To run intervention or extra-curricular sessions if required.Qualifications / Training:To have a Degree (Hons) in a relevant subject to to have a degree in Psychology or a related subjectTo be a qualified Psychology teacher (PGCE or equivalent) or training for QTSExperience:To have teaching experience in a culturally diverse secondary schoolTo have experience of working with mixed ability studentsTo have an understanding of a range of teaching and learning strategiesIf you are actively looking to secure a Psychology Teacher post this September, do not delay – this is an opportunity NOT TO BE MISSED. Please apply ASAP.To APPLY - please submit your up-to-date CV via this advert.
