Company Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a new UK team which is part of an established global brand.The company are committed to training and developing this person to enable them to grow their career with the business.

We are looking for someone who places great importance on the accurate provision of information in a timely manner and is able to analyse and review processes and figures. The role requires the person to possess good accounting knowledge and has or is workingtowards a recognised qualification.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of timely and accurate management accounts
  • Credit control, bank reconciliation
  • Management of the company’s property portfolio, including leases and associated costs and charges.
  • Provide project accounting support as required
  • Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns, monthly payroll, statutory accounts, and tax
  • Preparing the year-end statutory accounts for entities and consolidation
  • Point of contact for the external audit and tax bodies
  • Setting up, reviewing, and maintaining utility contracts across the business
  • Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
  • Maintaining customer and supplier accounts
  • Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls
  • Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities that are deemed required by the business to support the daily operations of the business

What We Require

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Qualified finance professional CIMA, ACCA or level 3 ATT would be preferable
  • A confident, motivated individual with strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior members of finance team
  • Excellent attention to detail and be a logical and methodical thinker
  • Proven technical skills and ability in the role with a record of accomplishment for delivering outcomes
  • Good presentation and communications skills
  • Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages including Microsoft Office suite and Zero Accounting software
  • Able to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to multi-task, under pressure and meet deadlines as required
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
