About The RoleOur Transport Supervisors play a vital part in the operation and the customer journey by rolling up our sleeves up to get things done. You will report directly to our Depot Manager and will manage our warehouse team. Our Transport Supervisor will ensure that our day-to-day warehouse operation always runs effectively and that the warehouse achieves its objectives and KPI’s set out by the business. You will provide support to the warehouse making sure that everything runs smoothly, and the company operate with full compliance. Salary: £25,000.00 - £26,500.00 per annumHours: 4 on 4 off, 6:00am-6:00pm (40.25 hours per week)Job Type: Full time and permanent contractLocation: Unit 1, Middleton Avenue, Strutherhill Ind. Estate, Larkhall, ML9 2UN Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing Check that all vehicles leaving the depot are secure and meet required transport legislation requirementsMonitor delivery performance throughout the daySupport training for new starters to include Safe Systems of Work and Health and SafetyBriefing team daily/weekly on key priorities and workloadSupervising the team and allocating tasks and prioritiesComplete alcohol testing when requiredComplete minor repairs to vehicles and arrange servicing as requiredCommunicate with our Drivers, handling any queries efficiently and in a professional mannerTake responsibility for managing the transhipping and reloadsComplete in-house reports on a daily basis A Few Things About You Understand transport legislation and logistics operationAble to build good relationships with people even when under pressureChallenge any vehicle issues or damages with our DriversAble to make decisions in the absence of the Depot Manager to drive performance and serviceReact quickly to information and be able to solve problems independentlyGood communication skills both verbally and writtenCompetent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel A Bit About UsWe’re a team of individuals who go to great lengths to make sure our customers are the happiest customers out there.
