Job DescriptionChief Research & Operations Officer (CROO) Cambridge, R&D Science and Pharma Circa £400k plus package A leading global US pharmaceutical research organisation, is seeking an exceptional individual to join their executive team as Chief Research & Operations Officer (CROO) to oversees not only the operational aspects of the organisation but also plays a crucial role in research strategy and securing funding for scientific initiatives.
This prestigious institution, with offices in Cambridge and London have significant operations worldwide, is at the forefront of science and research.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in R&D environments, preferably with exposure to the charitable sector and funding.
This is crucial as you will be leading a key division that bridges the organisations scientific research with its philanthropic initiatives.
Key responsibilities: Drive operational excellence across R&D functional divisions to accelerate scientific breakthroughsProvide strategic support to the Chief Scientific Officer and liaise with the Scientific Advisory BoardSpearhead the R&D transformation programme, aligning it with charitable objectivesChair the R&D Operations Committee and participate in cross-functional strategic boardsEnsure efficient, integrated operational delivery across all R&D support functionsImplement ambitious equity, diversity, and inclusion goals within the R&D divisionContribute to strategic decision-making as a member of the R&D Executive CommitteeOversee risk management and compliance processes in research operationsOptimize resource allocation for maximum research impact and charitable benefit Chief Research & Operations Officer (CROO) Candidate profile: Proven track record of executive leadership in a research focused envirornementStrong understanding of the intersection between scientific research and philanthropic sectorExcellent strategic thinking and operational execution skills in R&D contextsDemonstrated ability to lead large-scale R&D organisational transformationCommitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in scientific fieldsExperience in managing the unique challenges of charitable research funding is highly desirable This position offers a highly competitive compensation package circa £400k pa, commensurate with the seniority and responsibilities of the role.
The position will be based at the organisations R&D headquarters, with a hybrid working model.
