Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical LeadLocation: BarrySalary: £70,417 to £81,138 a year (FTE)Closes: 01/10/2024 Job summaryWe are currently recruiting for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Conditions, to provide leadership and specialist clinical input in Beechwood College. Beechwood is a specialist residential education service providing person centred care and education for young people aged 16-25 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, learning disabilities and complex behavioural presentations.You will take a lead role in supporting and leading the MDT to deliver high quality services, through assessment and formulation to intervention and evaluation. As a senior clinician, you will also take a lead role in coordinating the overall clinical provision across the site, which varies according to individual need and to commissioned requirements.To be considered for this post, you must have post-qualification experience working in Autism and/or learning disability settings.You will have ideally received post-qualification training in positive behavioural support, have substantial experience and knowledge of multi-disciplinary clinical intervention for people with an Autism Spectrum Condition, and be competent in the use of modified evidence based psychological therapies for people with ASC related needs.Main duties of the jobTo provide strategic and clinical leadership to the MDT within Beechwood College and to ensure appropriate clinical governance of all clinical activities within the college, as delivered by all professional groups.To provide strategic and clinical leadership regarding psychological assessment and treatment delivery to psychologists and other members of the MDT who deliver psychological interventions at Beechwood College and if required other ICG Learning Disability ServicesTo develop, implement and evaluate, along with other staff qualified in the provision of Applied Behaviour Analysis/ positive behavioural support, a coherent and evidence based programme for the delivery of such interventions by the MDT.To develop systems within the organisation to ensure that positive approaches to challenging behaviour become embedded into the general functioning and culture of the organisation.To ensure that clinical input is integrated with educational delivery and is supportive of identified learning outcomes for young people within the service.
