Job description : If you are an experienced Care Assistant looking to expand your skills and knowledge into complex clinical care or if you already have complex care experience, this could be the perfect job role for you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a special education school in Barnsley as a Healthcare assistant. Greenacre is a special school educating children and young people aged 3-19 years with severe and complex needs.

At Greenacre, Apollo Home Healthcare provide the School a Health Team who deliver on-site support to children with a very wide range of ongoing health care needs. The team work closely with the teachers, teaching assistants and pastoral care staff to ensure that children with additional healthcare needs get the support that is required and can participate fully in their education.

Duties of the care team

We are looking for a friendly, dedicated, and compassionate team to provide highly skilled care to children who have additional healthcare needs, these include:

  • Enteral feeding
  • Administration of regular and emergency medication
  • Diabetes and epilepsy management
  • Personal care
  • Moving & handling

This position is Monday - Friday Term time only

Full time & Part time available

Shift times can vary from 9:30am-3:00pm & 8:00am-4:00pm

Skills & Experience Required

  • Applicants must have previous relevant 3 months healthcare experience with children.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and positive approach

Pay Rates

  • We are currently paying £12.50 per hour for this position_
  • Approx. £100 per 8-hour shift_
