Cable Lay Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Cable Lay Superintendent for Dogger Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for the loading, transporting, and installation of subsea cables. Leveraging your extensive experience in cable laying operations, you will lead a team on board and coordinate all necessary works and stakeholders to ensure cables are laid in the safest and most optimal way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all cable-related operations are conducted with the highest level of safety and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of 10 to 15 members, including foremen and operators.
  • Conduct shift handover meetings with the team on board.
  • Liaise with colleagues on the bridge and surveyors for optimal cable operations.
  • Maintain daily contact with client representatives, addressing their questions about progress and technical aspects of the operations.
  • Supervise all operations on the back-deck, including the operability of the Cable Installation System (CIS), ROVs, cranes, and other equipment on board.
  • Ensure the integrity of the cable during loading, transporting, and installation phases.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities performed.
  • Report to the Offshore Installation Manager.


Profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in submarine cable installation, with several years in a Cable Lay Superintendent or similar role.
  • Strong commitment to prioritizing safety and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Proven leadership abilities and exceptional communication skills to effectively manage and lead a diverse team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in demanding work environments.
  • Flexibility regarding working rotation schedules.
