Plant Fitter

First Achieve is currently looking for an experienced Plant Fitter in the Glasgow area to join an exponentially growing business, offering an autonomous role, training, career prospects and a great annual salary with benefits

Plant Fitters are an integral part of their team. As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking the routine testing, maintenance and repair of all the Company's equipment, vehicles and trailers ensuring that they meet the highest possible standards.

Responsibilities include :

• General refurbishment and repair of all Hydraulic components
• Fitting of Hydraulic components
• Testing of Hydraulic equipment
• Regular maintenance of equipment to determine compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards and legislation
• Carry out scheduled Service Inspections, servicing and repairs in compliance with manufacturers specifications.
• Carry out all tasks in compliance with the Company's Environmental and Health and Safety Procedures.
• Repairing / overhauling and maintaining plant & tools, economically and efficiently, ensuring that breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manner to limit downtime, and machines are serviced in time.
• Obtaining / requesting all parts necessary to carry out repairs.
• Salvaging usable parts from machines being repaired / scrapped.
• Cleanliness and housekeeping within your area
• Occasional site work
• Carrying out minor welding, painting and electrical tasks on plant.
• Adhere to Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality processes to ensure we are compliant at all times

Ideally you should also have :

• City and Guilds Advanced Maintenance qualification or equivalent
• A Forklift Truck licence would be desirable
• Experience within a busy yard environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Immediate start

Salary on offer

• £28,000 - £35,000
