Junior Quality Assurance Analyst

At Reed.co.uk, we’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic and motivated Quality Engineer who wants to play an integral part in shaping the future of our Courses marketplace.

As a Junior QA Analyst, you’ll support the Product team in delivering against the Reed Courses product roadmap , contributing to create products that drive customer adoption and engagement and ultimately business growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  • You’ll be involved in all parts of the development process, from inception to delivery , helping to define items of work with the development team, and helping to define the acceptance criteria

  • Manual testing of code complete items to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria, as well as non-functional requirements :

  • Manage pre-release regression with the development team to help ensure quality in the weekly releases

  • Liaise with the wider department to get, and act on, feedback on issues affecting the quality of our products and services, including UX, UI, developers, DBDs, Product Owners, Support, your fellow QA team, and, just occasionally, with Marketing

  • Be part of the release rota , taking on the role of Release Manager coordinate, and release code to production

  • Support the quality engineer in improving, or introducing new initiatives, and process to improve the delivery of quality products :

  • Support continuous integration & delivery and planning tests at the right testing levels

Skills and Experience : ISTQB certification or equivalent

  • Familiar with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban )

  • Experience in exploratory, and user acceptance testing :

  • Experience with defect logging, escalation, and monitoring using issue trackers :

  • Ability to collaborate with, and present improvements and ideas, to other members of the QA team

  • Other desirable skills_

  • Exposure to source control (git), TeamCity, and Azure DevOps :

  • Exposure to JIRA

  • Experience with modern CI/CD technologies such as AWS Pipelines or similar

  • Automation experience with languages such as Java, Javascript or others and tools such as WebdriverIO or similar frameworks

  • Demonstrable commercial experience in programming, C#/Java/Javascript
