Software solutions provider is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer A UK leading provider of software solutions has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced DevOps professional who will have a deep understanding of and technical lead for all aspects of the Azure platform. You will be an integral part of the developmentand support functions, as well as supporting Azure across the technology teams. As a decisive problem solver, you will have the knowledge and skills to resolve issues within the Azure environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with the technology teams in designing and implementing reliable, high performing, efficient & scalable systems
  • Develop and extend security and compliance
  • Ensure all key services are measured, monitored and raising alerts when needed by developing an instrumentation strategy
  • Develop a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy
  • Coach and train developers on DevOps best practices
  • Understand and highlight cost savings or increases from likely changes
  • Drive efficiencies in processes: capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring, backup/restore and root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the Azure environment, including architecture diagrams, infrastructure documentation and data flows
  • Liaise with clients face to face, online or over phone
  • Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery strategy
  • Always consider best practice IT Security, work within the GDPR framework and work with Senior Relationship Manager on Data Privacy Impact Assessments where appropriate

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive experience and accreditation with Azure cloud solutions
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as PowerShell / Azure CLI and Bash
  • Experienced with source control systems such as Git
  • Wide ranging knowledge of Azure security configurations
  • Microsoft certified
  • Experience of implementing DevOps for Azure SQL
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Outgoing personality, with the ability to challenge the status quo when needed and help deliver the best possible quality using the best technologies
  • 'Can do' attitude, a creative thinker who can add value in stakeholder meetings
  • Successful experience of mentoring and coaching team members
  • Proven ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical people and actively participate in knowledge sharing
  • A self-motivated individual who keeps abreast of current and evolving technologies
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of DevOps processes and tools such as Terraform
  • Ability to write technical documents
  • Running workshops / creative sessions
  • Good organisational skills
