We’re looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer to join an extraordinary team and award-winning FemTech start-up on a fully remote basis. The company was founded a few years ago, sparked by the CEO’s personal struggles whilst on maternity leave. Realising thesupport she needed didn’t exist and seeing the problem affected new mums all over the world, she decided to use her technical expertise to create a revolutionary product that would make a real difference. Since then, the product has had an incredible response

  • it’s being used in over 70 counties (and rising!) and is recommended by the NHS Trust as part of a social prescribing pilot. They’ve been featured in numerous news articles and an interview with BBC News, won prestigious awards, and received funding fromInnovate UK. The skills we’re looking for :

  • Strong full-stack development experience.

  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript, including React or Vue and Node.js.

  • Experience with databases including MongoDB and MySQL.

  • Familiarity with AWS.

  • Appreciation for automated testing, CI and CD.

  • General understanding of Swift.

  • Empathetic, a good listener, and ability to mentor others - it’s likely you’ll progress to Head of Software Engineering or CTO in the future, so you’ll be someone who can lead and inspire future team members.

Bonus points for

  • iOS/Android/React Native experience.
  • A relevant degree e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Engineering.
  • Previous experience working at a start-up.

What you’ll be doing : You will lead on the software development of their pioneering app, helping to develop new products and features from idealisation, requirements specification, to proof of concept, full build and test through to launch. Working across their entire stack (back-end,front-end and mobile platforms) you’ll plan and deliver end-to-end solutions. You will also optimise the existing code base to ensure the product is scalable and robust. Day to day you will also collaborate with internal members of the team such as UI/UX Designers, Product, QA and will manage and work closely with external subcontractors. As the company continues to grow, you’ll help to expand and develop the software team,so will interview, lead, and mentor others. There’s the potential for this role to progress to a Head of Software Engineering or CTO.
