We are a small but growing Accountancy Practice based in Caerphilly. Established over twenty years ago we have been growing consistently for the past few years and are therefore looking to extend our team.

We have a vacancy for an experienced accounts assistant to join us, initially on a part-time basis with the possibility to increase to a full time position.


This will be an on-site position but free on-site parking can be made available.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not exclusively:

  • Accurate data entry of client information using Visual Transaction, Sage Online and QuickBooks Online.
  • Bank reconciliations both manually and using the above mentioned software.
  • General bookkeeping.
  • Preparation, checking and submission of client VAT returns using software.
  • Preparing accounts of Sole Traders and Companies using software as above, Excel and manually.
  • Processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for clients using MoneySoft.
  • Maintaining the practice software and CRM system.
  • Speaking to clients by telephone and in person.
  • General administrative duties such as filing and greeting clients.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in most, if not all of the above listed responsibilities, ideally from working within a UK accountancy practice for at least two years.


Although AAT will be a benefit, those qualified by experience will also be considered.


Experience in all the responsibilities listed above is an advantage but experience of UK payroll and data entry is essential, as is excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Those with no experience of UK payroll, VAT or accounts will not be considered.
