Job summary Excitingopportunity!We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic leaders to join our existing teamwithin Lincoln ED department.This is a exciting role that has been developed to provide consistent senior leadership in the department 24 hours a day, working closely with the department Lead.The Emergency Department sees approximately 70,000 new patients each year and provide a demanding and challenging environment in which to work. It is a designated hospital for trauma and major incidents, works in conjunction with colleagues from LCHS to provide Minor illness and Injury patients and operates a Consultant led Rapid Assessment and Treatment area.The Emergency Department has recently under gone redevelopment to increase the number of cubicle spaces provide additional resuscitation capacity and a bespoke paediatric area. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to display excellent communication skills , have high standards of care and demonstrate excellent leaderships skills.The successful applicant will need to be confident, caring and passionate about ED service and use such attributes to ensure the process are followed, four hour breach targets are adhered to and the utilisation and ongoing implementation of the ED clinical quality indicators that ensure safety. All whilst ensuring patient safety.We are ideally looking for someone with Emergency Care experience at band 6/7 level- ED experience preferable but not essential as induction to the postwillbe provided.The candidate must be willing to work a range of shifts which includes; days, nights and weekend working. Person Specification Qualification Essential RGN/RN Degree level qualification Health related or relevant experience ALS Competent EPALS Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development Desirable Have/willing to study to Masters (Msc) level ATNC Teaching Qualification Skills Essential Computer literate in Microsoft systems Knowledge of local and national issues affecting Nursing & Midwifery (NSF's, NICE, NMC) oEffective role model oPro-active approach to change management oGood understanding/ awareness of the patients that come to ED and the processes used within an ED department oOrganisational and presentation skills oLeadership and Motivational skills oExcellent communication and negotiation skills oExperience of providing and receiving complex information oFunctions effectively as team leader and team member oHas an understanding of the complexities of working across organisational and professional boundaries Desirable Experience /knowledge of Erostering Experience Essential Significant Band 6 level experience within an Emergency Care setting Evidence of good organisational and planning skills.
